Sr. Software Engineer II

Minimum of 5 Years experience with a B.S. in Computer Science or Math. Conducts or participates in software development with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the development of operational software used for Aircraft systems trainers. Proficiency with programming, debugging, and testing in C/C++, FORTRAN, and ADA. Proficiency with Linux and Windows operating system development environments. Experience in hardware control applications using distributed processing systems. Experience in developing GUI systems to control distributed hardware applications. Advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements. Experience with data acquisition and processing using digital and analog I/O.

Conducts or participates in multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems software. Determines computer user needs; advises hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems such as executive programs.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
