Senior Software Engineer - .Net Developer (ASP.Net, C#, SQL)

Working on Monster’s web applications you will use some of the latest Microsoft technologies, such as .NET 3.0 and Ajax.
 
Essential Functions:
  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain current and new.NET applications and web services
·         Participation in full software development lifecycle including requirements analysis and design, working closely with technical, design, and product teams
·         Responsibility for developing solutions for all tiers of the application; code-behinds, controls, middle-tier business components, database layer, etc.
  • Provide input and execute on efforts to improve the efficiency and quality of our development projects
  • Investigate and analyze reported defects in a timely manner, and recommend solutions to these problems including code changes, data updates, or configuration modifications
  • Conduct and assist in design and code reviews
  • Conduct and assist in unit and integration testing
  • Mentor junior developers
 
Required Skills:
·         Minimum of 5 years of software development experience
·         Minimum of 2 years experience developing web applications with the .NET framework
 
 
 
 


Job Requirements:
Preferred Skills:
  • BA/BS degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. A technical degree with a minor/concentration in computer science is also acceptable
  • At least 5 years of software development experience (non-academic) with demonstrable experience and fundamental understanding of the.NET Framework including C#, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, XML, web services, data structures and collections, caching, configuration, etc.
  • Experience designing and implementing dynamic, personalized, database-driven, large-scale, high-volume commercial web sites
  • Understanding of the web application development process, including compilation/building, coding standards, and source control
  • Good fundamental and hands-on knowledge of with MS SQL Server
  • Knowledge in OO development principles, multi-tier web application design and relational database principles
  • Solid understanding of design patterns
  • Excellent analytical skills, understanding of project life cycles, and ability to act in an entrepreneurial manner to ensure the software delivered matches the business communities’ needs
  • Preferred past experiences include the following:
    • Prior use of FxCop, NAnt, NUnit, NDoc
    • Experience working in a regionally distributed development group
    • Experience with working in a multi-team environment
    • Comfort with direct communication with all levels of technical and business resources
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced cross-functional team environment
  • Ability to design and develop software in a group or independently
  • Should be comfortable with direct communication with all levels of technical and business resources
  • Understanding of multiple SDLC concepts, including waterfall and agile
  • Ability to handle several projects simultaneously
  • Experience working with technical, design, and product teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficient in MS Project, Excel, and Word
