Sr. Software Engineer - Platform Technologies (Gaming Industry)



Description:
A leader in the gaming industry (MMORPG's) is looking for a seasoned software engineer to join their platform technologies working on core technology that will be leveraged across all games. This technology includes product/community launchers, installers, automated testing systems, and data distribution technology, among others. The ideal candidate will be a good communicator, be able to balance requirements against implementation, and have the ability to envision and help design work-flows.

Responsibilities:

Mentor and monitor the development of associate-level engineers. Design and develop common internal systems libraries for tools and games.

Design and develop systems such as patcher, installer, down-loader, and launcher for all games.

Provide continued development support for legacy games.

Design and develop internal automation tools such as build servers, unit test frameworks and game testing tools.


Requirements:
7+ years experience in software engineering in various programming languages.

5+ years experience in C++.

Strong background in two or more of these APIs: Win32, Mach, Cocoa, BSD, Linux, sockets, or STL.

Strong background in one or more of these subjects: AI programming, Control Theory, UI design, or framework architecture.

Technical writing experience.

Pluses: Scrum/Agile experience, statistical analysis experience, Boost API experience.

This position requires a C++ generalist (expert level). Please make sure your resume reflects this.
