Sr. Software Engineer Position Responsibilities: Working within the Brake Control Systems Department, the successful applicant will primarily be responsible for overseeing and directing the development of embedded software for use in aircraft braking and actuation systems in a high reliability critical application environment (Level A/B). Defining and improving plans and standards for developing embedded software; allocating system requirements into software requirements; deriving software requirements; overseeing and directing the software development process including certification; directing ongoing support of fielded software.
Minimum Requirements:
1.BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or suitable engineering curriculum.
2.Eight (8) years of software development experience dealing with embedded software, digital signal processing, or motor controls.
3.Proficient with C or assembler languages for 16 or 32 bit embedded microcontrollers / microprocessors.
4. Familiarity with industry formal software development processes, such as, RTCA DO-178B (or non-aerospace equivalent.)
5. Familiarity with software configuration management, problem reporting, structural coverage, V&V procedures and testing.
6. Familiarity with industry standard compiler, debugger, emulator, and monitoring tools.
7.Familiarity with requirements management tools.
8.Experience with integrating and testing electronics and software.
9.Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with individuals / teams at all levels. Solid technical judgment with initiative, resourcefulness and creative problem solving skills. Capability to meet program schedule milestones in a multiple constraint environment.
Preferred Requirements:
1.MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or suitable engineering curriculum.
2.Six (6) years of aerospace software development experience dealing with digital signal processing and microprocessor based controls.
3.Experience using DOORS or other commercial requirements management tools.
4.Experience with formal software development processes, structural coverage, V&V procedures & testing, and RTCA DO-178B certification of software development programs.
