A Systems Engineer is responsible for presales technical/functional support activity to prospective clients and current customers with supervision. This is an individual contributor position reporting to a Systems Engineering Manager. This specific position is designed to help drive revenue for EMC by utilizing technical knowledge of eDiscovery, Compliance, Information Governance/Management and/or Archiving products in EMC’s SourceOne family.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  • Work as part of sales team to formulate account strategies

  • Own the technical relationship with the customers and is responsible for ensuring that SourceOne wins product evaluations

  • Provide and demonstrate innovative solutions and strategies to solve complex issues and client's business problems

  • Provide detailed evaluation of opportunities, task plans and technical approaches for projects

  • As integral member of the sales team, provide effective presentations, demonstration and technical support

  • Develop competitive knowledge and leverage in sales cycle

  • Participate in customer onsite Proofs-of-Concept

  • Develop specific areas of expertise in addition to maintaining broad product skills

  • Continue to develop and expand industry and product knowledge including futures

  • Travel within your assigned territory as required

 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
BS or MS in Accounting, Business, Engineering or Computer Science
3+ years experience within the software industry
 

  • A minimum of 2 years experience working in a pre-sales capacity supporting packaged information governance, eDiscovery, document management or archiving software solutions

  • Experience in systems analysis and/or client needs analysis

  • Must have excellent oral and written presentation skills

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to lead a team to solve complex business / technical issues

  • Ability to work as a team, yet work independently on complex problems

  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills

  • Exhibits good project planning and time management skills

  • Ability to build and support applications and / or core products demo systems

  • Exhibits strong leadership and mentoring skills

  • Knowledge of business systems applications

  • Sales experience, a definite plus


Proficiency in MS Project, Visio or similar
