Senior Systems Engineer

 

We are looking for an experienced engineer to be part of the Instrument System Development Center immunoassay design team.  This is an exciting new product development opportunity! This position will be responsible to conceptualize, develop, and analyze complex subsystems in our innovative new world class diagnostic instrumentation.  This will involve evaluating differing technical approaches, performing trade-off studies, and evaluating robustness at the system, subsystem, and component levels.

 

Responsibilities:

·        Concept design by identifying key design parameters, assessing multiple design options, and evaluating system interactions with appropriate analysis and/or experimentation

·        Apply sound system engineering principles to analyze and characterize system, subsystem, and component performance parameters leading to reliable, robust system operation.

·        Analyze, summarize, present, and interpret experimental data to formulate conclusions and make recommendations

·        Participate in and lead cross-functional teams

·        Adhere to company and quality policies and procedures

·        Track and communicate project status

 

Qualifications:

·        Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering (BS + more than 6 yrs exp, MS + more than 4 yrs exp).

·        Relevant experience with Mechanical/Electrical/Systems competencies in medical device, instrumentation, or similar electro-mechanical industry

·        Experience with Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) tools preferred

·        Ability to grasp complexities and recognize inter-relationships among instrumentation and chemistry

·        Ability to monitor policies, procedures, and standards relating to Systems Engineering.

·        Ability to design, execute, and document experiments to evaluate subsystems and systems

·        Experience in Design for Reliability techniques, formulating performance and/or statistical models, and analysis and interpretation of the system using block diagrams a plus.

·        Self-starter with a sense of urgency to resolve issues and complete tasks

·        Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

·        Must posses strong verbal and written communication skills

·        Able to work independently and on cross-functional teams with development groups at other facilities as well as take work direction and follow procedures

·        Work effectively with team members to develop goals and plans, resolve problems, achieve goals, and coordinate efforts within and across departments
