Front-End Developer
About the Job
As a Front End Developer, you will be responsible for building and enhancing our large-scale web application, turning concepts and designs into working solutions optimized for performance, user experience, and maintainability across all major browser platforms. You’ll help rapidly prototype new features for quick iteration on improvements and feature adoption. In addition to writing code, you’ll also be involved in feature decisions, implementation details, maintenance, documentation and overall performance optimizations. This position will work closely with Product teams and Engineering peers to collaborate, innovate, and ultimately build deceptively simple and efficient user experiences for our users.
Responsibilities:
- Build, enhance and maintain the front-end of a large scale, high traffic web application
- Create simple and intuitive XHR/RIA interfaces, applications and features
- Help implement a consistent, modern and advanced UI across the application, including underlying front-end architecture in a consistent, abstract and modular way
- Analyze site/page speed and help provide performance tuning and load optimization solutions
- Participate in code/peer reviews; help create, refine and implement development standards, including documentation and technical specifications
- Be a proactive member of a forward thinking team of developers who have fun, work hard and are driven to continuously providing the best possible solutions
- Stay current with technology and industry best practices
Qualifications:
- Expert knowledge of client-side HTML and HTML5, CSS2 and CSS3, pure JavaScript
- Experience with standard JavaScript libraries (such as jQuery)
- Established experience in writing optimized, performant, modular and reusable front-end methods and modules.
- 3 or more years of experience with large scale, high traffic/performance, web applications.
- Expert experience in cross-browser compatibility issues, browser degradation/progressive enhancement strategies and best practices, optimization and accessibility techniques.
- Experience with object oriented server-side programming, specifically ASP.NET MVC with C#, is a strong plus.
- Experience with Mobile/Responsive Design is a strong plus.
