The position is responsible for the coordination and completion of technical work on client engagements involving tax accounting and tax consulting matters while maintaining positive client relationships.  Provides creative and objective guidance for proactive, year-round tax planning to minimize client tax liabilities while complying with local, state, federal and international tax laws.


 


Job Duties and Responsibilities


Lead and provide project management.



  • Assist with managing client relationship to deliver quality services and products.

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationship and client communication.

  • Maintain confidential and independent nature of client relationship.

  • Ensure compliance performed by staff is properly completed.

  • Monitor and adhere to engagement time budgets.

  • Coordinate, research and complete complex technical work involving accounting, tax and consulting matters. 

  • Assist with directing staff in completing technical projects.

  • Assist with maintaining a balanced workload for staff.

  • Research domestic and international tax matters.

  • Complete technical tax work.

  • Write and review client tax advice.

  • Assist in formulating and delivering tax planning services.  

Pursue business development.



  • Identify and recommend additional services for existing clients.

  • Serve as a resource in pursuit of new business development.

Maintain and expand knowledge base in area of expertise.



  • Comply with continuing education requirements; participate in professional organizations, independent study, etc.

  • Integrate new knowledge and skills into daily work and share with colleagues as appropriate.

  • Acknowledged and sought out by others due to extensive, in-depth knowledge and expertise in field.

  • Maintain current knowledge of local, state and federal practices and laws; evaluate and advise on the impact of new related strategies, programs, and/or regulatory actions.      

 


 


Qualifications


 


Bachelor's degree with an accounting major and credits qualifying to sit for the CPA exam required.  Master’s degree in accounting or taxation preferred.


 


Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in professional Accounting - Tax functions.


 


Demonstrated leadership, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, communication skills, and highly developed tax preparation software and Microsoft Suite skills (Word, Excel) required.


 


Ability to provide exceptional client service, research and resolve tax issues, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning in order to stay current regarding strategies and regulations, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of duties.
