Sr. VB. Net Developer
VB.NET Programmer/Analyst
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Programmer/Analyst works under the direction of the Programming Manager and applies development skills to help solve complex business problems in a timely manner. The role requires the ability to work as part of a team. The Programmer/ Analyst will develop a solution from a documented or verbal specification in a timely manner to meet organizational deadlines.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Analysis and Design – Participate in design sessions lead by senior team members. The individual will be expected to provide input into possible solutions for complex business problems.
• System Support – Responsible for the support of certain applications within the organization.
• System Reporting and Ad- Hoc Reporting – Serves as a key member in the development of ad-hoc and system developed reporting and queries. The selected candidate will become an expert with the enterprise databases and know the most efficient ways to report on them. Uses appropriate reporting or database tools to build effective reports as needed.
• Testing and Deployment – Tests and documents code as it is developed and assist in the integration of code units as part of larger solutions.
• Documentation – Adhere to all department and team policies for design, development, testing and deployment documentation. Follow all documented design and coding standards and exhibit excellent written communication skills and the ability to write effective manuals.
JOB SKILLS REQUIRED
• Ability to work effectively with all members of management and colleagues, as well as within the IT team.
• Ongoing contact with key business users in gathering requirements and delivering systems.
• Ability to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently with the aptitude to effectively prioritize as project needs change.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to write effective correspondence and documentation.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• 3 to 5 year using VB.NET and Visual Studio for development of console, services, winform and web site applications
• Bachelors of Science or comparable degree preferred
• Experience with XML and creation and consuming of web services
• SQL Server 2005 experience with queries, stored procedures and SSRS report writing
• Familiarity with source control systems SVN
• Experience with MS Access and VBA (Visual Basic for Applications)
• Experience with .Net Framework 3.5 and Ajax programming a plus
