Web Designer

Responsibilities

  • Design, layout, content review, and production support of the McAfee web properties

  • Key contributor to the McAfee.com team, with direct interaction and support of internal customers

  • Managing internal and external company web pages

  • Will be an accountable teammate for the overall display and functionality of the site

  • Contribute ideas to team objectives and produce quality work in a timely manner with excellent ability to meet deadlines

  • Involved with the planning, testing, and release of feature and functionality enhancements

  • May assist in the brainstorming and planning of overall company strategy involving internet usage

  • Day to day web production for www.mcafee.com using standard templates and tools

  • Develop and edit HTML through native editing and manage content via corporate web content management system

  • Work in cross functional team to develop timely changes to page content and design in support of dynamic business

  • Test and validate content in staging environment

  • Help maintain the www site, regional web sites, the company intranet, and other web properties ensuring control over the brand, look and feel, and regular content updates

  • Create and support micro-sites or landing pages related to company events and special focus areas


  • Graphic design ability, familiarity with web infrastructure, attention to detail and deadlines, excellent communication, and problem solving are required skills
    Hands-on experience using web content management tools and should feel comfortable collaborating with others to meet objectives

  • Creativity, attention to detail, and time management are critical to the job

  • Highly skilled at coding and troubleshooting HTML and managing CSS

  • Hands-on experience with Flash and graphic design using the tools in Adobe Creative Suite

  • 8+ years experience working with new media maintaining corporate web sites

  • 4 year college degree required

  • Graphic design experience required

  • Experience using content management systems (CMS) such as Interwoven, Documentum, Vignette, etc…for day-to-day production deliverables is required

  • Proven history of being able to work under pressure, multi-task, and to meet deadlines

  • Detail-oriented approach to managing work

  • Ability to work independently and with others

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience being flexible in a dynamic work environment

  • Experience with maintaining a large corporate web site, navigation and page templates, and managing a CSS is required

  • Knowledge of restrictions in design on the web and browser limitations is required

  • Experience with dynamic site generation is highly desirable

  • Extensive experience and use of the following technology is required:

    • Adobe CS3 (Photoshop, Dreamweaver...etc)

    • HTML (native editing and development)

    • XHTML and CSS

    • Flash

  • Experience with the following technology is highly desirable:

    • Adobe Illustrator

    • Adobe Premiere

    • Javascript
