Homesite is a unique and innovative national property and casualty insurance company. Partnering with major insurance carriers and led by a management team with extensive experience, Homesite is carving out a position as a homeowners' solutions provider. 

Due to growth at Homesite we are currently seeking an intelligent, analytical, energetic individual to join our IT group. Senior Web Developers will be engaged in custom application development, software package customizations, and software maintenance.  Development work will include presentation layer work and various services tier systems, using C# in an object oriented Services Oriented Architecture environment.  The service tier systems will include messaging, .net remoteing, ASP.Net and WSE web services development

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Create technical design specifications and documentation
• Assist with defining development work plans
• Design, develop, & deploy application components
• Mentor application developers through complex software development activities
• Perform technical design and code reviews
• Communicate development status and escalate issues to management
• Execute processes to ensure application integrity and availability
• May research alternative development methodologies and make recommendations for team improvement
• Able to troubleshoot and resolve application defects/outages
• Execute on other directives as needed

Qualifications

• 3 - 5 years experience in software design and development
• Excellent communication (oral & written) and organizational skills
• Knowledge of web services and SOAP
• Solid .NET and C# skills
• Customer facing web development
• Ability & desire to work in dynamic team environment
• Ability & desire to drive technology forward
• Ability to work with others as a colleague and mentor

Skills, Abilities, Competencies

• 3+ years Microsoft .NET (C# and/or VB)
• 3+ years of ASP/ASP.NET
• 5+ years of Object oriented development technologies
• 5+ years Microsoft SQL Server
• Visual Basic 6.0
• Javascript
• Web Services
• CSS driven design
• Web Services, WCF, Remoting

Level of Education Required

• Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in a technical area, preferably computer science or engineering
