| Sr. WebSphere Engineer/Administrator
Job Description: We have a challenging opportunity for a Sr. Websphere Engineer/Administrator who will provide WebSphere administration and management to new and existing WebSphere environments running on IBM AIX systems. Additionally, this individual will assist in the development of architectural designs and roadmaps for current and future WebSphere applications and infrastructures.
Specific responsibilities include:
Provide product installation, configuration and deployment of J2EE applications, performance tuning, and troubleshooting as well as manage all WebSphere environments in AIX/UNIX environment and support the development team's deployments into a clustered environment.
Implement security policies and standards into technical designs and solution development
Validate technology designs and provide consultation to software development and engineering teams.
Administer and support Unix servers, including working knowledge of Shell scripting. AIX knowledge preferred.
Manage the Unix systems and Java system interfaces, including JDBC, WebSphere database communications and system integration.
Provide administration and support of IBM DataPower XML appliances.

Job Experience: Qualifications include:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
6 - 8 years of experience in Unix
3 – 5 years of experience in WebSphere which includes: installing, configuring, tuning, automating, and troubleshooting WebSphere Application Server v6 in a clustered deployment model
Solid understanding of Internet concepts including firewalls, web browsers, TCP/IP, SSL, HTTP
Solid understanding of the J2EE application model, including EJBs, JSP, HTTP sessions, and servlets and J2EE technologies, such as JDBC, JMS, JNDI, JTA, and JAAS
Good understanding of XML, HTML, Web services, including SOAP, UDDI, and WSDL Solid understanding of High Availability standards and methods with WebSphere application environments
Basic programming knowledge
Experience in system administration on UNIX operating systems such as AIX including operating system functions and utilities, Shell scripting, hardware architecture is preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook and Excel (intermediate level)
Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills
Strong organization skills with attention to detail
Problem solving skills
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced, changing environment
Must be able to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills to lead other team members and facilitate innovative thinking to solve technology issues.
