We have an excellent opportunity for a Staff Accountant in our Emergency Cardiovascular Care Department, to be based at our National Center in Dallas, TX.

Our Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Programs (CPR, First Aid and related training) educate healthcare providers, caregivers, and the general public on responding to cardiovascular emergencies, cardiac arrest and stroke. ECC is dedicated to increasing public awareness of the importance of early intervention and ensuring greater public access to defibrillation. ECC programs train over 13 million people every year.

The Staff Accountant performs a variety of duties related to general accounting, in the daily operation and month-end closing of the accounting records, specifically relating to the revenue generating activities for the ECC programs as well as assisting in the preparation, analysis and monitoring of the budget.

Additional responsibilities will include:
*Perform all material sales function as related to ECC domestic and international operations, including inventory receiving, and sale order & invoice generation, material transfer and inventory & cost adjustment.
*Prepare quarterly international inventory reconciliations.
*Compile international sales information from various sources for the ECC International Program and prepare reclassification entries to record international sales and costs from domestic sales.
*Prepare schedules for and assist implementation of account settlement with ECC international partners, as directed.
*Review the ECC contracts with customers and business partners and maintain a current summary of the financial terms of ECC responsibilities.
*Calculate and record commissions and royalty due ECC business partners and consultants for both ECC domestic and international operations.
*Monitor collection and recording of royalties from ECC business partners for both ECC domestic and international operations.
*Perform the assigned tasks (including the required accruals) by the due dates in month-end closing process.
*Assist the Director, ECC Finance in completing quarterly settlement agreements with business partners.
*Assist in setup, maintenance or modification of E1 inventory and sales systems parameters. Assist in identifying and resolving E1 related issues and problems.
*Review exception report monthly and clear exception items for month-end close.
*Assist in the ECC budgeting process by preparing analyses on revenues and budget requests, as directed. Provide assistance and support to ECC staff in developing their respective budgets. Completing tasks and related analyses as assigned.
*Prepare year-end analysis and entries as related to revenue to reflect accurately ECC programs financial position and performance per General Accepted Accounting Principal.
*Assist in inventory obsolescence analysis at year-end.
*Assist in the annual year-end audit by the external auditor, including preparing respective 'Prepared by Client' schedules and responding to external auditor questions.
*Cross train as needed with other ECC Finance team members.

Qualified candidates will have the following experience and background:
*4 Year College degree preferred in Accounting/Finance or related business degree or equivalent of related job experience of 4 years.
*2+ years experience in the principles and practices of general accounting.
*Skilled in PC applications including Outlook, Excel, Word & database software.
*Ability to operate ten-key calculator by touch.
*Ability to interact with all levels of National Center staff, Affiliate staff, volunteers and public.
*Ability to analyze numbers and interpret findings, both orally and in narrative form.
