Job Description
The Staff Accountant performs various general ledger and project accounting functions assigned by Controller. The incumbent is assigned responsibility for numerous long term contracts or projects and serves as the point of contact for providing financial information about those projects to staff, management, and the client. This position is responsible for timely and accurate review, posting and payment of invoices, issuance of expense checks, and accurate reporting to units and outside agencies. Resolves billing questions and discrepancies and maintains accurate records. -Review, Code and Process book keeping and payment for all invoices ensuring all supporting documentation has been received and approved -Maintains prepaid and accrual accounts -Review and process all employee expense reports -Responsible for preparation of invoices for government customers: FP and T&M contracts, in accordance with the contract terms and conditions. -Perform monthly reconciliation of unbilled receivables -Review aged receivables report to identify unpaid invoices. Work with customers to handle inquiries and resolve disputes to resolve outstanding collections. -Assist with monthly close -Assist with other department duties as necessary

Qualifications : Bachelors Degree required, degree in finance or Accounting is preferred Effective communication skills to interact professionally with all levels in the organization and with outside contacts -Demonstrate ability to effectively manage customer inquiries and dispute resolution -Organized and disciplined to ensure compliance with procedures, yet confident enough to propose simplifications and better efficiencies -Flexibility to take on additional projects and adapt to changes in priorities
