VanderCook College of Music seeks to fill the position of Staff Accountant.  This is a full-time position that reports to the controller of the college.  The staff accountant is responsible to handle the requirements of the business office to fulfill financial reporting and compliance.  This position requires occasional evening and weekend hours.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Prepare and review journal entries

·         Manage fixed asset schedules

·         Monthly bank reconciliations

·         Process period closes and prepare monthly work papers

·         Audit support

·         Maintain investment schedules and entries

·         Financial reporting

·         Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

·         Other projects as assigned

Qualifications:

·         Willing to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues and students

·         Strong organizational skills

·         Excellent problem solving skills

·         Experience in QuickBooks and CAMS a plus

·         Proficiency in MS Office products a must

·         3-5 years accounting experience preferably in an education facility

·         Bachelors degree in accounting
