Fast growing on-line marketing company is looking for a Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper.
This position is responsible for various accounting and financial reporting functions as well as handling daily transactions and analysis of the activities in a multi-entity environment. The Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper will support the Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance/Accounting department. He or she is also responsible for additional tasks as assigned by the Controller.
The Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper is a critical and integrated member of the Finance team. Being a people person and someone who enjoys working on a team are imperative.
Responsibilities
• Full cycle accounting including general ledger, bank, credit card and G/L reconciliations
• Preparing journal entries for day-to-day operations, analyzing accounts and making necessary adjustments.
• Preparing comprehensive analysis of all monthly activities for assigned entities and performing various reconciliations between inter-company transactions the accounting system and other sources to confirm accuracy
• Being responsible for the month-end close process, verifying integrity and accuracy of the general ledger as it relates to his/her duties, investigating variances, identifying and resolving issues. Preparing supporting schedules and recording accruals.
• Review and maintain the fixed asset and associated depreciation schedules to insure accurate monthly recording of expense and insure proper recording of new purchases and disposals.
• Assist in tracking and maintaining company insurance policies, including annual renewals.
• Assist with preparation and review of real estate leases, financing documents and numerous other contracts.
• Review internal reports and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of accounts and timely resolution of reconciling items.
• Assisting with preparation of quarterly financial statements and year-end audit process
• Assisting with other special projects as needed.
• Being a team member and helping out in any way possible including contributing to meetings, supporting others in any way possible and helping customers when they call in.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 3-5 years of full-cycle accounting experience
• Online marketing accounting experience preferred
• Experience in dual entry, accrual based accounting
• Ability to work in multi-tasking environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility and being a self-starter with a positive attitude
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, highly analytical and a problem solver
• An expert or high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and QuickBooks Enterprise or Pro
