The Jacksonville Bank has an immediate opening for a Staff Accountant reporting to the Vice President/Controller. The ideal candidate will have a four year college degree in accounting, and 2-3 years accounting experience including reconciliation experience. In addition the candidate must have strong computer skills and robust knowledge of Excel, compiling spreadsheets, and budgets. Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant completes account reconciliations including research for outstanding items, enters journal entries into the system, works as back up for the accounts payable process, completes the Fixed Asset inventory, and supports the Controller with accounting research and analysis. Other duties include but are not limited to:

·        Complete daily and monthly GL account reconcilations by established due date

·        Enter all journal entries for the accounting and finance department

·        Provide backup support for accounts payable responsibilities

·        Ensure compliance with the company’s policies and procedures

·        Ensure compliance with established internal controls including SOX compliance

·        Support the Controller with special projects as assigned

To be considered, candidates MUST have:

·        Bachleors Degree in accounting, required

·        Intermediate MS Excel experience required

·        2-3 years accounting experience including account reconciliation experience, required

·        Previous banking experience, preferred
