Staff Accountant
About the Job
A Leading Retail Company located in Essex County, New Jersey is searching for a Staff Accountant who will handle the following responsibilities:
- Prepare various monthly journal entries including accruals and recurring entries
- Perform monthly general ledger analyses and reconciliations for balance sheet and operating accounts
- Handle NJ sales tax/use tax reporting and related general ledger account reconciliation
- Process states payroll taxes data requests and satisfy all requirements/reconciliations made by states
- Update SAP for costing information as directed
- Prepare and file 1099 forms
- Preparation, presentation and variance analysis of the budget and forecasts
- Cash applications for customer payments
- Provide back up for accounts payable
- Bank account and fixed assets reconciliation
- Cash management and reporting
- Assistance with the monthly and year end closings
Qualified Candidates will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 2+ years of experience
- Experience using SAP a plus
- Payroll experience a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Excel and Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The total compensation range is from $49,000 to $56,000 with excellent benefits (medical, dental), and 401k plan with match.
