Staff Accountant
Publicly traded oil and gas company seeks a staff accountant with former treasury management and financial reporting experience who can apply the principles of accounting to analyze cash information and prepare cash-based and financial reports in accordance with the company’s internal and external accounting requirements.

Job Description:
• Prepare reports of daily cash activity from banking institutions to determine funding requirements.
• Prepare all bank transactions to satisfy cash funding and activity needs.
• Prepare weekly cash position reports and analysis.
• Monitor and review check registers prepared daily based upon cash transactions which occurred during previous day banking and general ledger transactions.
• Daily communication with management regarding cash positions through email and verbal communication as needed
• Maintain all required logs and support data needed to meet accounting control procedures
• Prepare cash, bank loan, interest expense, interest income and related general ledger entries for entry in general ledger.
• Prepare various daily, weekly and monthly analysis of bank loans and or intercompany loan transactions
• Other banking functions include uploading positive pay files, downloading cleared check files, downloading confirmations of wire transactions and interaction with banking staff daily weekly or monthly as needed.
• Prepare analysis of related accounts for monthly reporting.
• Prepare and/ or review monthly bank reconciliations.
• Assist Controller with all other accounting functions as needed including, but not limited to monthly accrual preparations and analysis, GAAP analysis and entries and annual tax reporting entries.
Qualifications/Skills:
• Must be of excellent moral character with an excellent working knowledge of accounting and cash principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Must be self-motivated person who can multi-task and work in a structured team environment while paying STRONG attention to detail with accuracy while meeting time sensitive deadlines.
• Must have knowledge of financial accounting software applications and the ability to analyze data retrieve from multiple sources and prepare accurate cohesive financial reports.
• Excellent organizational, communication and problem solving skills are imperative.
• Must be an accurate typist with an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Applications especially Word and Excel.
