STAFF ACCOUNTANT

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Staff
Accountant sought by a growing medical start up company relocating to Canton Georgia. 






















Job Purpose Wear many hats and preform standard general accounting functions.





Tasks





·  Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial
statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and
conformance to reporting and procedural standards.



·  Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring
compliance with payment, reporting or other tax requirements.



·  Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues,
financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses
or to provide advice.



·  Report to management regarding the finances of establishment.



·  Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper
accounts.



·  Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic
reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.



·  Develop, implement, modify, and document recording and
accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.



·  Prepare forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping
personnel, and direct their work activities.

POSITION SUMMARY:  

 

The
Staff Accountant position requires an organized and highly motivated
team player with strong initiative, communication skills, and strategic thinking.​  Staff Accountant has broad general accounting
and financial reporting responsibilities with a focus on general
accounting, G/​L & month-end, financial reporting & analysis,
and special projects.​  Specific responsibilities include:

 

  • Responsible for month-end and quarter-end closing
  • Support operations in understanding their financial information and identifying opportunities to maximize financial performance
  • Special projects on an as needed basis

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/​BS Accounting a must (3.​0 or higher GPA)
  • CPA, CPA candidate, and/​or public accounting experience desired
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger and month-end close experience
  • Detailed oriented with strong analytical skills 
  • Self-starter, takes initiative, sense of urgency, excellent communication skills, team member
  • Strong Excel and accounting/​financial software skill
