| Department Overview |
| The CSA Audit and Reimbursement Department is located in Morrisville, North Carolina with field offices in Greenville, Gastonia, Winston-Salem and Des Moines, Iowa. This unit is responsible for all audit, appeals, reimbursement, and settlement issues in the state. The reimbursement sector handles payment and reimbursement for Medicare providers and the audit unit conducts Medicare audits on provider cost reports to determine payment. When cases develop, the area also handles appeals filed by providers and conducts settlement determinations. |
| General Responsibilities |
| Performing or assisting in the performance of audits of Medicare cost reports in an accurate and timely manner. Ensuring that audits are performed in compliance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS), Medicare law and reimbursement principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), in those cases where Medicare principles do not address an issue. |
| Qualifications |
| 1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with a minimum of 24 semester hours in Accounting 2. Experience in a position requiring use of judgment in dealing with confidential data 3. Experience in a position interpreting and communicating information orally and written 4. Proficient in using a PC and keyboard in a Windows environment 5. Experience in a position using Microsoft Word 6. Experience in a position using Microsoft Excel 7. Experience working in the health care industry desired 8. Knowledge of Medicare regulations preferred |

| The hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. |
