Qualifications


The candidate should have an MS or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics with two to five years design experience of process equipment.  The candidate should have strong background in fluid mechanics and FEA modeling using various commercial packages.  In addition, the candidate should have experience in designing process equipment with specific knowledge in solid modeling.  Experience using Pro-Engineer is preferred.


 


Additional Technical Skills


·         Must be comfortable working around equipment and machinery with a “hands-on” approach.


·         Technically proficient in the field of Applied Mechanics and Heat Transfer with a working knowledge of FEA modeling.


·         Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics using Fluent is preferred.


·         Knowledgeable with vacuum systems and their design is a plus.


·         Familiar with ASME, JIC and NEC industrial standards.


 


Responsibilities


Engineering design, analysis and development of new and advanced equipment used in the production of single crystal Silicon production.  Responsible for designing equipment using Pro/E solid modeling software and analyzing designs using various commercial finite element packages.  Take ideas from concept to finished design and work with process engineers and manufacturing to implement design.


 


Specific Responsibilities


·         Provide safe, timely and high quality furnace hardware designs for Technology process equipment and development programs utilizing state of the art modeling and design skills.


·         Install and implement designs and equipment into R&D facility as well as manufacturing sites.


·         Support the transfer of technology to manufacturing sites.


·         Maintain awareness of new equipment technology and communicate pertinent developments to colleagues.
