SUMMARY

Mechanical Engineer position. Opening is for a creative mechanical engineer with experience in large chassis designs and related assemblies, faceplates, thermal analysis, heatsinks, metal casting, RF shields and connectors. Pro-E expertise required. Candidate must be able to design, implement and support design solutions from high level system requirements and concepts.

DUTIES

  • Responsible for design, review and delivery of custom multi-board telecommunications chassis
  • Design of chassis related internal assemblies
  • Vendor management and review of connector assemblies
  • Chassis and board thermal analysis and solutions
  • Faceplate design
  • Work as a part of a larger team in defining product
  • Knowledgeable in system integration including ESD, EMI and regulatory testing
  • Develop easy to read and complete documentation


Required Skills

Qualifications/Skills/Abilities Minimum

Formal Education: BSME

Experience (type & duration): 10+ years experience in all phases of physical design for telecommunications industry

Skills:

  • Expertise with Pro-E
  • Experience in thermal modeling
  • Comfortable negotiating tolerance specifications with Vendors
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with MS Office applications

Skills:

  • Previous experience in chassis based telecommunications design
  • Participation in system level design of complex, multi-board systems
  • Knowledge of Cable Television systems and outside plants
