Staff R&D Engineer
Our Cardiac Surgical Systems organization, which is one of our fastest growing business units, is looking for a talented Engineer for our Midvale, UT facility. This is an exceptional growth opportunity and chance to work on cutting edge technologies within the minimally invasive space. As a Senior R&D Engineer you will provide engineering support to R&D in the design and development of cardiovascular devices.
Additional responsibilities include:
· Technical responsibilities for one or more cardiovascular devices.
· Design and develop devices, including developing design requirements, generating design concepts, prototype builds, pre-clinical evaluations, and transferring to manufacturing.
· Will work closely with project team members and internal partners in Regulatory, Quality, Manufacturing and other departments to deliver project objectives.
Our Requirements:
*Multi-level position: Position title and level posted is preferred. However, we will also consider hiring at the Staff Engineer level.
Senior Engineer requires a minimum of five years of experience. Staff Engineer requires a minimum of seven years of experience. Also requires a minimum of three years of creative design expertise using ProE or Solid Works.
· Experience in Interventional Medical Devices (510K/PMA Products) required, as well as solid knowledge of plastics.
· Experience in catheter design (extrusions, braiding, bonding processes) is required.
· Experience in new product development with successful design from concept to commercialization is strongly preferred.
· Preferred background includes experience in more than one of the following areas: Interventional access devices, balloons, manufacturing, rapid product development, creative design and hands-on prototyping, process development, design for manufacturing, and project management.
· A bachelor's degree in a related engineering field such as mechanical engineering or bioengineering is required; a master's degree is preferred.
· Effective communication, listening, and diagnostic skills are required to communicate with surgeons and external consultants, as well as with internal team members from various departments. Ability to work well independently and as a member of a team is essential.
