Position Description: LSI Corporation is a leading provider of innovative silicon, systems and software technologies that enable products which seamlessly bring people, information and digital content together. This position will be a vital member of the LSI Integrated Business Products Group (IBP). IBP is key to LSI’s strategic plan to increase the value of our product offerings by providing robust and fully integrated solutions for our current and future customers. Responsibilities include the architecture, design, development and delivery of software components and applications for LSI’s Storage Solutions. Work with a team consisting of multiple internal groups, external partners and end customers to understand and deliver on product requirements and priorities. Work with technical and strategic architects, product managers and customer interface leaders to refine high-level requirements, consult/advise on feature sets and provide alternative recommendations that balance technical limitations with LSI’s product objectives. Other desired qualities are strong personal motivation and a willingness to demonstrate a high sense of urgency while working within the larger team. Must have a history of being a technical role model, exemplifying engineering excellence and integrity. Must have experience working with management, team colleagues, and partners to ensure aggressive schedules and quality goals are met. Must have strong teamwork skills, the ability to technically coach and mentor less experienced teammates and possess the ability to maintain high morale within the IBP organization. Occasional travel may be necessary to attend internal and customer meetings. Requirements/Qualifications: • 10+ years experience delivering high-quality software, • Proven proficiency utilizing Microsoft technologies using the Visual Studio development environment. • Strong Linux and UNIX knowledge and development background. • Proven proficiency with C/C++, Win32, COM/DCOM. • Proven proficiency with C#/.NET managed code and COM interop. • Working knowledge of NFS and CIFS technologies. • Working knowledge of database programming such as MySQL. • Working knowledge of UML • Working knowledge of Java technologies a plus (Java, Swing, JSP, J2EE) • Working knowledge of Web application development technologies (GWT, XML, HTML, JavaScript, PHP, CSS, and HTTP). • Ability and desire to mentor team members on technical topics. • Knowledge in software version control systems. • Bachelor or Master Level in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Preferred • Experience with SW/FW/HW system integration and debugging. • Experience with storage architectures and APIs a definite plus. • Experience with enterprise management technologies (SM-CLP/CIM/WBEM/WMI/SMI-S). • Experience developing clustered or high-availability applications.
