Job Description

State Tax Manager

Responsible for entire state tax function, including both income and non-income taxes.
• Work with operations and finance functions to ensure sales tax is properly invoiced and accrued while providing the business team the information it requires to meet our tax requirements and improve efficiency.
• Ensure account reconciliations are prepared monthly.
• Review state income, sales & use tax returns and ensure they are timely filed while also managing audits and appeals.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding the application of sales tax (both internal & external).
• Analyze enacted state and local tax legislation as it relates to TriZetto's business.
• Prepare property tax renditions, unclaimed property and other non-income tax filings.
• Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with state laws.
• Document SOX Compliance workflows, ensuring all internal controls are met timely.
• Assist in the review of contracts to determine the state and local sales/use and property tax consequences.
• Monitor and assess the utilization of Vertex.
• Train staff with regard to tax technical issues and policies/procedures to ensure consistent processes.
• Lead, coach, supervise, and develop staff.
