Must have High School Diploma or GED.  Requires exetensive experience as a stationary engineer, including superviosry experience or equivalent combination of training and experience for a period  of at least 5 years. Must possess current Class I Stationary Engineers license as issued by the City of St. Louis. Must have thorough knowledge of a wide range of equipment, proper lubrication methods, ability to detect problemss and to perform minor repairs. Preferred candidates will possess refrigerant certication to properly work on HVAC equipment. Must hold EPA 408 1 & 2 universal certification. Preferred candidate will have the ability to use Metasys HVAC System. Must have thorough knowledge of the methods and prinicpals involved in the operation and maintenance of heating, air conditioning, and ventilating systems. Considerable knowledge of hazard and safety precautions involved in a heating and ventilation plant.  Extensive knowledge of hazard and safety precautions involved in the daily operation of physical plant. Must possess the ability to maintain a wide variety of electrical and mechanical equipment. Ability to plan, assign, and supervise the work of subordinate personnel. Ability  to trouble shoot and take appropriate corrective action on equipment that may be malfunctioning. Extensive knowledge of hydraulic boilers, water towers, water treatment. HVAC dampers, energy management systems, computers, pumps, back flow valves, adn roof top HVAC. Ability to observe safety precautions in carrying out assigned tasks, and to instruct others in their observance. Ability to keep accurate records of plan operations. Ability to maintain a safe facility. Familiar with office computer use and use of MicroSoft Office programs. Requires a clean police background check for St. Louis City & County. EOE

Job Duties

1. Responsible for servicing and maintenance of heating and air conditioning systems as well as inspection of the building, lawn, and parking lots.

2. Work with and assisting subordinate when applicable and seek subordinate assistance in ongoing center maintenace.

3. Responsible for planning, performance, organizing, and directing the operation of the maintenance and repair of all heating and cooling ventilating systems.

4. Maintain and make minor repairs to related machinery and equipment that requires subordinate assistance when applicable.

5. Work with subcontractors.

6. Responsible for lubrication and maintenance of a wide variety of equipment and machinery.

7. Conduct ongoing inspections of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment to conduct routine preventative maintenance on an ongoing basis. Conduct tests and treat boiler water and conduct all preventative maintenance on boilers as needed.

8. Perform all admininstrative job duties commensurate with position.

9. Complie all necessary records and reports.

10. Assist Chief Financial Officer in obtaining bid proposals requested for areas of the health center.

11. Serve in the capacity of Safety Officer for the facility and conduct all ongoing emergency safety drills. Coordinate fire extinguisher training and fire extinguisher checks.

12. Carries cell phone, on call emergency maintenance sistuion (i.e. plumbing problems, electrical problems etc.)

13. Oversees all contractor work on property and on health center equipment.

14. Assigns keys, makes employee identification badges, activates and deactivates employee badges.

15. Works with security on burglar alam, fire alarm, and close circuit TV repairs.

16. Performs all job duties of general maintance technician in his/her absence.

17. Performs other related job duties as assigned by Chief Financial Officer
