Are you looking for a job where you can use your quantitative and analytical skills to do interesting and rewarding work that contributes to the betterment of society? Our statistical data analysts are doing that every day as they work to detect and prevent Medicare fraud and preserve the Medicare Trust Fund for future generations. As a member of our team you will:

  • Perform in-depth evaluation and analysis of potential fraud cases and requests for information using claims information and other sources of data.
  • Utilize data analysis techniques to detect aberrancies in Medicare claims data.
  • Support the development of complex cases that involve high dollar amounts, sensitive issues, or what otherwise meet criteria for referral to law enforcement, recoupment of overpayment, and/or administrative action based on proactive and reactive data analysis.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, including federal law enforcement officers.


Qualification
Basic Qualifications
  • BA or BS degree required with preference given to MA or MS recipients.
  • Must have high proficiency level with MS Access and MS Excel.
  • Must be familiar with and able to use SAS, DataProbeorother data warehouse applications to perform various types of data analysis.
  • Previous experience in healthcare data analysis for purposes of identifying potential fraud, waste and abuse issues is preferred.


Work Experience

At least 2 years of experience in data analysis as well as demonstrated knowledge of health care and claims or a combination of education and equivalent work experience. The candidate shall possess knowledge of various database management systems in order to input, extract or manipulate information.

Demonstrated experience and knowledge of health care information (health claims data, ICD-9-CM codes, physician specialty codes, pharmaceutical data including NCPDP file formats and codes, provider identifiers, etc) is preferred.
