Current Need

The Managed Services Organization of McKesson Technology Services is currently recruiting for a Storage Engineer to design, develop, and operationally enable solutions used to deliver McKesson¿s software solutions to its customers.

Position Description

Responsible for providing knowledge-based, content or technical expertise for the development and implementation of customer applications or solutions dealing with complex software applications. May make presentations on all aspects of products. Assists sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and preparing detailed product specifications. Implements detailed customer installation plans. May provide follow-up support in disseminating knowledge-based, content or technical information on specific applications or solutions.

Additional Knowledge & Skills

- Ability to develop solutions against defined specifications and use cases



- Provide leadership in IT for the development of highly available, secure, flexible storage infrastructures



- Work with application development teams to define storage requirements, best practices, and performance characteristics unique to each solutions set



- Ability to respond to customer requirements with thoughtful solutions that address needs while considering security, availability, redundancy, and fiscal requirements.



- Ability to evaluate industry trends and respond with analysis and evaluation of solutions providing material impact to the business



- Responsible for creating, developing, and updating our data center infrastructure library, including, but not limited to best practices and procedures documents, installation documentation, application certification and compatibility matrixes, and sample documentation for customers.



- Work with sales engineering team to educate on solution design characteristics and differentiations.



- Responsible for installation and testing of new solutions at initial sites and knowledge dissemination to Field Engineering team for future installations.



- Ability to work collaboratively with various constituencies.



- Ability to effectively communicate to varying levels of technology knowledge (engineer to executive)



- Demonstrated track record of execution and personal accountability



- Content Addressable Storage and Virtual Tape Library experience desirable



- Healthcare experience desirable



- McKesson application knowledge desirable



- Previous development or product management experience desirable

Minimum Requirements

6+ years of storage applications engineering experience

Education

BS degree or equivalent experience. May require professional certification in applicable healthcare expertise.
