We are currently looking to hire a dynamic Account Executive.  The Account Executive will plans and execute sales activities to meet aggressive new business growth goals, proactively uncover sales opportunities with targeted prospects (e.g. Department of Justice, Homeland Security, Social Security Administration, Department of State, etc) and advance and close sales successfully.
 
 Additional responsibilities include:

  • Proactively and regularly initiate client-facing market development efforts, effectively understand client needs and consult with clients to architect broad solutions to meet those needs
  • Delivering quantifiable financial results through sales of products and services
  • Build and sustain trusted advisor relationships with senior client executives and increase Experian penetration, revenue, and profitability in the government marketplace
  • Work with government buyers to understand their business needs and provide necessary expertise in representing Experian’s solutions to solve agency problems.  Direct and coach internal efforts to fulfill engagements from an overall business standpoint by effectively guiding internal engagement teams in assessing client business practices, policies, analytics, and technological systems while they devise and implement solutions to efficiently meet client needs
  • Generating sufficient opportunity pipeline; utilizing Siebel system to report on progress
  • Developing professional proposals in conjunction with vertical marketing and product management
  • Utilizing strategic selling skills to close opportunities
  • Working with product marketing, contracts, compliance and product development teams to implement opportunities
  • Monitoring success
 
Major Job Functions
 
Strategic Sales — Assume the role of trusted business advisor and provide senior level council to agency leadership.  Effectively understand client needs and consult to architect broad solutions that meet those needs.  Provide clients with industry-focused thought leadership, consultation and insight.
 
Account Planning — Responsible for thoroughly understanding targeted agency business objectives, operating needs, business processes and economic drivers; Performs business process and operational reviews, identifies opportunities and proactively develops specific recommendations for client business improvement; collaborates with Experian sales, marketing, analytics and technology teams to exceed growth goals and client expectations.
 
Leadership — Direct internal efforts to fulfill engagements from an overall business standpoint by effectively guiding internal engagement teams in assessing client business practices, policies analytics and technology systems while devising and implementing solutions to efficiently meet client needs.
 
Relationship Management — Responsible for developing and managing the Experian relationship with prospects and clients by assuming the role of trusted advisor.  Ensure all Experian touchpoints with the client are performing in an integrated fashion and creating customer loyalty.
 
Sales Growth — Accountable for finding and closing new revenue opportunities and meeting revenue budget expectations.  Responsible for budget setting and providing accurate forecasting and financial reports/information; Manages solution design, pricing and contract negotiations.


  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
  • 5-10 years experience working with federal agencies
  • Proven strategic-level sales, and/or business development background.  Strong consulting skills
  • Strong account relationship, growth and profitability experience
  • Ability to interact and strongly connect experiences to opportunities with leaders in Federal agencies
  • Demonstrated experience and comfort in developing and managing senior level relationships extending up to the Agency Director level
  • Strong consultative sales and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to translate client needs into strong positioning and messaging to the marketplace
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; articulate and persuasive presence and speaking experience required
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, deep knowledge of the trends and issues facing the information services/analytics/fraud prevention or credit decisioning sector
  • Excellent planning, organizational and project management skills and a proven ability to drive results
