Position Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Strategic Account Specialist provides a single point of contact to manage overall customer satisfaction associated with all Automation products, develops and maintains relationships with existing Automation clients, and collaborates with those customers to achieve optimum efficiency. The SAS works directly with the customer and other team members to help our customers become quality sites of excellence. The Strategic Account Specialist also works closely with Automation Consultants (sales) and Inside Sales Representatives to help secure contract extensions, add-on product sales, and new customer contracts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provides product and workflow expertise to McKesson Automation customers
* Perform ongoing performance assessments at customer sites to improve operating efficiency
* Initiate and maintain customer satisfaction plans
* Prepare issue analysis, status updates, and special reporting to Manager of Strategic Account Services, Sales, and client team on a regular basis
* Manage accounts following implementation, including contract adherence, financial obligations, external interface compliance, system integration issues, communications and overall client satisfaction.
* Provide focal point contact for McKesson client communications and escalation of project issues for all current and future Automation products.
* Establish timely, clear task and project expectations.
* Provide proactive planning to address customer performance and/or satisfaction issues.
* Maintain a high level of communication with all levels of client interaction (C-suite, IT, Pharmacy, Nursing, etc) to ensure proactive, solution-oriented problem identification and resolution
* Serve as a key consultant for product development.
* Work closely with customer information technology department to support:
* Remote and onsite Connect-Rx upgrades
* Anti-virus software vulnerability patching, Connect-Rx network placement, IP, Domain, hardware issues, etc.
* Promote and optimize client product ownership and clinical integration through support of:
* Train-the-trainer education methodology
* Product support, documentation, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
* Strategize and collaborate with Automation Consultants to:
* Secure contract extensions
* Assist in add-on product sales
* Assist customers to become sites of excellence and provide high quality site visits in coordination of sales needs
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education / Training:
* Bachelors degree preferred. In lieu of Bachelors degree a minimum of six years of relative work experience in a hospital pharmacy or clinical work setting and/or information technology, product management, account management, sales, project management, customer service, etc may be substituted for some post-high school education.
* Information System user and/or implementation experience and relational database/system development information systems experience or course work.
Business Experience:
* Demonstrated Project Management skills to prioritize the needs of multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
* User knowledge of Information Systems, especially automated order entry, medication administration, or pharmacy information systems.
* Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare industry
* Five plus years experience in a hospital or clinical environment
Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
* Working knowledge of computer hardware, PC Windows and Microsoft Office, Professional.
* Working knowledge of SQL and Client/Server architecture.
* Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
* Position offers approximately 50% travel.
