Leads, develops, and participates in one or more Global/Regional Teams of professionals in driving competitive advantage and cost savings for Arkema. Uses expert knowledge of the creation and management of leveraged agreements, the management of key supplier and customer relationships, and the effective execution of commodity planning and management processes, in the successful implementation, execution, and compliance of global procurement and commodity/spend category strategies, contracts, processes, and policies.
- Responsible for all elements of commodity management for designated spend categories, including: strategic understanding of supply marketplace, pricing and term negotiations, preparation and analysis of Global/Regional bid proposals/packages, supplier selection, and negotiation / communication with users across plants and business units
- Leads/participates in development and implementation of strategic sourcing strategies for designated spend categories
- Develops and maintains global and regional contracts that are sound commercially and provide optimum protection of company assets
- Quantifies and reports implementation gap closure and value of recommended sourcing strategies
- BS Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, MBA preferred
- Minimum 10 years experience with at least 5 years experience in purchasing commodity chemicals.
- Specific experience in propylene, ethylene, ethylene derivatives and oxo-alcohols is preferred.
- Results-oriented, self-starter with strong business/financial acumen
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong sense of urgency with ability to lead through influence
- Excellent communication skills (aural, verbal, written – both formal and informal)
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) preferred.
