Strategic Sourcing Specialist

C&S Wholesale Grocers is the second-largest food wholesaler and the twelfth-largest privately held company in the United States. We distribute food to supermarkets, retail stores, and military bases across the country. Currently, we serve over 5,000 stores from over 70 locations in 12 states.
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will manage and reduce costs associated with $1 billion in annual Not-for-Resale (NFR) expenses by leading collaborative strategic sourcing initiatives and other innovative process improvement initiatives that engage multiple departments in order increase spend visibility and controls, reduce organizational risk, and improve C&S’s market competitiveness.
Qualified candidates must have:
• College degree required, MBA preferred, Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) preferred.
• 3-5 years of professional purchasing experience with increasing responsibilities demonstrated, ability to communicate and interact with senior level executives, strong financial background for business case development and savings calculations, collaborative approach, ability to project manage multiple (5+) projects simultaneously, excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to manage a direct team of up to 5 people, ability to prioritize, make timely decisions and deliver results.
• Strategic Sourcing, e-procurement and e-sourcing, procure-to-pay process knowledge, contracts, finance concepts, risk management.
• Negotiations (traditional and online [reverse auctions]), supplier relationship management.
