Introduction
The primary function of the Student Life Coordinator is to promote and maintain a campus culture that is conducive to academic achievement and personal growth. The Student Life Coordinator promotes this culture by overseeing a portion of the Neumont University coordinated housing program, as well as retention programs on campus. The position requires approximately 40 hours per week, though hours may vary depending on the needs of the program. It is preferred that the Student Life Coordinator live in an apartment complex used to house Neumont students.
Job Duties
- Housing
- Know the names of, and pertinent information about, Neumont housing residents; maintain regular contact with residents.
- Maintain a high profile in the apartment area; be approachable and receptive.
- Mediate conflicts between residents.
- Observe and respond to student behavior that may indicate personal, social, or academic problems.
- Drive the Neumont van (back up for the van driver, driving for official housing activities, moving furniture, etc.)
- Confront and document policy violations (i.e. behavior inconsistent with Neumont University or apartment complex policies or state laws).
- Responsible for check-ins and check-outs at the beginning and end of the term, and as room changes occur. Set-up apartments for new residents.
- Complete financial reports for billing, utility, and student housing charge purposes. Track large quantities of data with accuracy and efficiency.
- Coordinate with apartment personnel on all matters: billing, work orders and maintenance requests, conduct matters, new and current leases, and all other matters related to the housing apartment.
- Supervise at least one Resident Assistant.
- Carry an on-call phone (when assigned) and respond to urgent housing matters.
- Provide non-academic advising services for students to help them identify obstacles to success.
- Assist new students in their transition to the university and housing communities.
- Plan and conduct social, educational, and recreational programs throughout term; oversee student organizations on campus.
Academic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.

- Related experience is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
Supervision:
- The Student Life Coordinator will supervise at least one Resident Assistant and other student employees, as needed.
Compensation:
- The Student Life Coordinator will receive compensation in the form of a two bedroom apartment, which includes gas, electricity, and water utilities, and a salary in the range of $24,000-$27,000. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
- The Student Life Coordinator will receive up to four weeks of paid time off as compensation for on-call work performed. This paid time off is in addition to two weeks of paid vacation to be used at the discretion of the Student Life Coordinator.
