Student Receptionist/Administrative Assistant

Location: Charlotte, NC 
 
The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) located off of WT Harris Blvd near I-85 is looking for a currently enrolled student to assist the Administration area of its Facilities department.
 
In this position, you will:
 
  • Screen incoming telephone calls and transfer callers as need.
  • Greet and check-in visitors.
  • Provide general assistance to questions and inquiries.
  • Back-up administrative assistants.
  • Various other tasks as needed. 
The Ideal Candidate
 
  • Is currently an enrolled student working towards a degree.
  • A successful candidate must also be available to work between the hours of 10:30am and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. 
  • Experience working with a multi-line telephone system is preferred.
  • Is reliable and capable of adhering to the aforementioned hours.
  • Is computer savvy, including familiarity with MS Office suite.
  • Has impeccable communication and writing skills.
  • Is able to present a pleasant and professional demeanor.
  • Can perform/manage multiple and complex tasks with limited direction.
  • Works well in a team environment and independently, yet knows when to ask for guidance.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills.

EPRI participates in E-Verify, an online system operated jointly by the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration (SSA). EPRI uses the system to check the work status of new hires by comparing information from the employee's I-9 form against SSA and Department of Homeland Security databases.
