Job Description:
The Commodity Manager will be responsible to lead a team of Supply Management professionals to create and implement innovative sourcing solutions to achieve Continuity of Supply, Cost Savings, Employee Development, and Customer Service objectives. Will be accountable for managing approximately $50MM of subcontracts of Indirect Material & Services. Commodity responsibility includes Project Services, and Non-Standard Vendor Material sourced domestically. Responsible to manage the Supply Base to achieve the lowest possible total costs, highest possible quality while maintaining overall delivery performance through excellent supplier partnerships. Will work to improve Harris’ cash management position with competitive payment terms, and vendor managed inventory programs. Responsible for negotiating supplier contracts, and become the Harris supplier expert in your commodity. Responsible for forecasting future market trends, and for identifying and developing world-class suppliers. Responsible for implementing cost saving projects across our Public Safety & Professional Communications Business Unit. Significant cross-functional collaboration is essential for success. Responsible for developing and implementing annual Commodity business plans.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business or technology and a minimum of 8 years of Supply Management experience in the field of electronic, telecommunications or construction services or Master's degree in business or technology and a minimum of 5 years Supply management experience in the field of electronic, telecommunications or construction services required;
- Minimum of 3 years direct supervisory experience required
- Minimum of 3 years supplier negotiation and subcontract management and indirect purchasing experience.
