Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but is not necessarily limited to the following: 

Develop and grow specialized substation engineering group including development of standard processes and deliverables. 
May serve as lead engineer for electric utility related high and extra-high voltage substation projects. 
Define design criteria, conceptual design, design calculations and insulation design for projects. 
Equipment selection and sizing, general arrangement plans, control building layouts, and schematic development for various projects. 
Prepare specifications for the procurement of substation materials, structures and other associated substation equipment. 
Develop cost estimates, schedules and budgets for projects. 
Provide engineering support to resolve technical issues that may arise in the different project phases. 
Provide technical direction, guidance, and training to junior engineers. 
Manage project budgets including support disciplines.
Some fieldwork may be required.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited four-year college or university program.  This position requires a minimum of ten years experience in  high and extra-high voltage substation design work.  A Professional Engineer license is preferred.  Candidate must have knowledge of applicable federal, state, local laws, regulations and the National Electric Safety Codes.

Position based in Lenexa Kansas.
