The Summer Intern program gives students the opportunity to work with high technology analytical instrumentation and techniques in one or more of the following areas: Functional Genomics, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Protein Purification, Chromatography, Wet Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Analytical Chemistry. Positions are available in both our Production and R&D departments. In addition to gaining marketable experience in an industrial setting, students participating in the program have an opportunity to participate in structured projects under the guidance of a Covidien mentor, which is then presented to a company-wide audience.
The Summer Intern conducts research, analysis, synthesis, testing and experimentation on substances for such purposes as process development and application, quantitative and qualitative analysis, improvement of analytical methodologies and quality control. Ideal candidates will have experience in a laboratory setting.
Requirements:
-Minimum Junior level standing in a Scientific discipline -Excellent academic record -Demonstrated core competencies, communication and leadership skills
