Supervisor of Casualty Operations

About the Job

Our company, Ironshore Insurance Ltd., a newly formed specialty insurance company, is seeking to employ a Supervisor for Casualty Operations within the Centralized Support Operations (CSO) Team.


 


A CSO team is being developed in Simsbury, CT to provide administrative and processing support for all US lines of business.  This position will be an integral part of the CSO management team and will be responsible for managing the entire underwriting support process related to our expanding national Casualty organization.  This includes working as part of a team that manages the support functions for other US lines of business, including Property and Specialty, and managing all aspects of workflow design, implementation, reporting and analysis.  It will require managing a team of 5+ employees and supplemental temporary staff that are responsible for the following functions:


 



  • Submission Intake and Clearance for New and Renewal business

  • Submission Acknowledgements, Broker of Record Processing

  • Creation of Electronic Underwriting files and preparation for underwriting review

  • Premium Coding in the policy admin system, maintenance of  minimum data entry requirements for each line of business

  • Contingency Tracking and Policy Issuance in conformance with pre-defined issuance service standards

  • Transaction Processing

  • Create and maintain underwriting files consistent with line of business standards

  • Status Changes and data updates

  • Participation in User Acceptance Testing for ongoing system releases

  • Responsible for entering additional data into the policy admin system, including status changes, data updates, etc.

  • Provide other technical and administrative support within the underwriting group and perform other duties as required

 


Minimum qualifications, education and experience required for this position are as follows:


 



  • Minimum 7 years working with Casualty lines of business

  • Strong organization, time management and presentation skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven supervisory skills to foster employee development


  • Ability to work under pressure and with changing priorities

  • Ability to interact with other team members is essential

  • College degree highly desirable

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint

  • Candidates must be willing to work flexible hours
