We are seeking an Operations Supervisor to join our growing long term care practice as we expand in New England.

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Supervisor of Dispensing Operations to manage the pharmaceutical drug dispensing at our regional fill pharmacy in Smithfield, RI.  The primary focus of this position is to ensure that the medications for our patient population are dispensed accurately and efficiently in a timely manner and in complete accordance with all applicable laws, regulations and Millennium policies.  The successful candidate will manage a team of technicians and supportive personnel to serve the needs of our patients.  Job Qualifications:

• Relevant operations, production and/or manufacturing experience in a high-SKU environment (> 1,000 SKU’s) and/or high speed (> 7,500 units shipped per day) fulfillment center environment is required.
• Pharmaceutical drug dispensing experience is a major plus.
• Experience in working with PLC-controlled automated equipment is another major plus.
• Must be mechanically inclined and have strong PC skills (MS Office).
• Strong organizational and leadership skills are required.  Must be able to coach teammates to achieve continuous improvement.
• Ambitious, energetic, and willing to learn and grow.
• Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or similar discipline is strongly preferred, but not required.  We will consider candidates with a less-relevant educational background in lieu of applicable experience.
• Pharmacy Technician Licensure in RI or willingness to obtain.

Essential Job Functions

• Provide direct supervision to technicians and supportive personnel in a manual operation with some automation via strong leadership skills.
• Ability to recruit, train, motivate and coach pharmacy personnel to achieve continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of an inventory database within an automated prescription dispensing environment.
• Develop, implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all major dispensing functions.
• Coordinate with the management team to plan production staffing requirements on a daily, weekly and quarterly basis.
• Develop a strong understanding of the automated dispensing equipment and become a subject matter expert on the operation and maintenance of this equipment within the first three months.
• Propose and provide creative solutions to product shortages, un-planned equipment downtime and temporary labor shortages.
• Maintain absolute compliance with all applicable regulations via a thorough practice of documentation and organizational skills.
• Create purchase orders for all production department purchases.
• Must be able to prioritize work and meet daily deadlines along with handling multiple tasks
• Create and maintain a relationship with Millennium’s operational Executives, Managers and Chief Pharmacists.
• Demonstrates “leadership by example” in projecting a positive attitude, and involvement in Millennium’s employee activities.
• In assigned area of leadership, this position will demonstrate expert knowledge and training for employees, as well as serve as initial response for problem or process review.
• Other duties as deemed necessary by Pharmacy and Operational Management

1. Perform other duties as assigned.
2. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time – sometimes on short notice.
3. Able to work longer than usual hours with little or no notice, as needed.
4. Attend staff meetings, teleconferences and patient care conferences as needed.
5. Ability to lift minimum weight of 50 pounds, and able to perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, and use full range of body motions.
6. Understand and follow Millennium Pharmacy Systems employee policies and procedures.
