Enbridge Energy Company, Inc, a leader in crude and natural gas transportation, gathering, and processing is seeking an Audit Supervisor for our Houston, TX location. The ideal candidate will be able to plan and conduct audit engagements. Internal auditing is an independent, risk based activity that provides monitoring and assurance to the A, F & R committee and to management on the adequacy and effectiveness of the systems of internal controls. It requires the application of a systematic and disciplined approach, with adherence to professional standards, to evaluate and recommend improvements to the organization's risk management, control and governance processes.
Responsibilities
Plan and conduct audit engagements. Support audit management on audit plan preparation, audits coordination, performance evaluations, Audit Committee reporting, staff development, budget, time tracking, work paper reviews, and audit research.
Support Company's overall compliance initiatives.
Coordinate diverse Audit Services initiatives.
Supervise and support staff.
Prepare formal written reports expressing an overall opinion on the function being reviewed, and providing value-added recommendations.
Coordinate and communicate with appropriate personnel and level of management for each function or activity being reviewed.
Accountable for providing a focused, value added, relevant and timely report on conclusions and recommendations to management
Qualifications
Candidates would have an accounting, business, finance or engineering degree combined with 8-10 years of related experience including auditing. (CPA, CIA, or CFE desired)
Strong understanding of audit procedures, internal control, and auditing standards.
Ability to guide and support staff on the audits* development and execution.
Ability to facilitate, negotiate and influence at various levels of management.
Experience with risk based auditing
Good customer service orientation
Industry experience (Desired)
Strong organization skills.
Strong computer skills; ability to become proficient in PC based software packages.
Report on conclusions (Written and Orally).
Succession planning potential in either Audit Management or operational/finance management roles.
