- Drive improvements in the Mold Shop Maintenance by training and development of the mold shop team.
- Manage and drive lean improvements in the flow of molds through the shop.
- Work with the overall molding team to drive continuous improvement in new, as well as existing molding processes.
- Calculate project costs, monitor costs, and recommend improvements to the costing process.
- Must have knowledge of both plant and department environmental health and safety regulations and comply with said regulations accordingly.
- Must perform other duties as assigned by supervision and/or management.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ten years experience in mold building and mold repair.
- Experience with high cavitation, precision molds.
- Journeyman papers/ticket, or has gone through extensive apprenticeship program.
- Must have the interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of management as well as the mold shop mechanics.
- Should have an organizational mindset.
- Must be skilled in teaching others.
- Tool room management is preferred.
- Some processing knowledge is preferred (e.g., SYS1 or MM1).
- Not a specialist, e.g., a programmer, or EDM wire specialist.
- Must be able to travel to get additional training, or for Mold design reviews, FAT?s, etc.
- Ability to develop the mold shop team utilizing analysis and critical thinking processes.
- Must have leadership capabilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
