Position Description:
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years experience installing, administering, upgrading Sybase databases in a development and production environment. The candidate should have proven experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting existing databases including patching, performance enhancement, backups, etc.
The candidate should have solid UNIX (Solaris preferred) background and an ability to work with other members of the MIS, development, qa, and system architects teams. The candidate should have the ability and desire to learn the applications and framework of the Sierra business unit. Must be familiar with SDLC.
Some travel may be required to client sites.


Position Requirements:
• Bachelors Degree
• 5 years DBA experience with ASE 15, Sybase IQ 12.7 or higher.
• Performance tuning with high data volume
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with UNIX (Solaris preferred)
• Must be familiar with SDLC
• Ability to travel to client sites as needed
