Sybase Database Administrator/Sr. IT Analyst

Senior IT Analyst

5 years demonstrated solid experience with Sybase (ASE 12.5.x) and Sybase stored procedures.  Creates and maintains physical database structures such as tables, views, stored procedures and triggers.  Sybase system administration plus knowledge of Sybase utilities (e.g. bop and isql), monitors database operations; analyzes and responds to performance and other maintenance issues; performs periodic maintenance and tuning databases as well as review and understanding of the logs.  Must be familiar with the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of ASE.  Interacts with application developers to develop database models that meet business needs, provide T-SQL support for report development team and maintains and coordinates required database security. 

Technical expertise and comfort in the UNIX environment (Solaris 9 and above), including:  knowledge of standard UNIX commands and tools, writing UNIX shell scripts and batch processing.

Required skills:

Secret clearance or higher granted by DoD

Sybase ASE 12.5x

Strong T-SQL

UNIX shell scripts

Sybase Tools (i.e. Sybase Central, SQL Advantage)

College degree in related field and/or classes related to database administration.
