Summary:
Responsible for all marketing activities to support the corporations sales and profit goals. The activities to be directed include advertising, promotion and community relations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present an annual plan and budget. The plan and budget should include proposed projects and activities to be completed in support of the company's sales and profit goals. A detail budget for each project should also be presented.
- Monitor market and economic trends and recommend market strategies to exploit market conditions.
- Provide input to the new product planning process.
- Direct the development of all product advertising campaigns and measure the effectiveness of these campaigns at achieving projected results.
- Establish and maintain a market research function to act as a resource to the sales and distribution areas. This function should generate prospect lists, complete regional market assessments, develop customer surveys and report results of customer surveys.
- Direct the community relations activities to ensure that the corporation and its products are seen in a favorable light across the customer base.
- Participate in the development of pricing strategies with Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing Departments.
- Select and direct the corporations advertising agency.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Direct the development of and carrying out of approved affirmative action programs in the area of EEOC compliance.
- Develop and maintain an effective organization through the selection, training, compensation and motivation of all subordinate personnel.
- Develop and maintain a program for sound employee relations with Marketing and Sales personnel at all levels of the organization.
- Provide guidance and direction to subordinate Marketing and Sales management to assist them in their personal and professional development.
- Oversee and direct the activities of the Marketing, Advertising, Community Relations and Marketing Research Departments.
Education / Experience:
- 15 years of diversified business experience.
- 10 years of sales and/or marketing related experience.
- 5 years of sales and/or marketing management experience.
- B.A. or B.S degree required
