Job Description: This position is for a system administrator training instructor and course material developer. The successful candidate will perform the duties of an instructor and training course material developer for a system consisting in part of Unix workstations and associated network equipment. Position will require the development of entire system administrator training curriculum (instructor guides, student guides, visual aids, test packages, etc.) and conduct of training courses including hands-on lab instruction and practical evaluation. Training courses will provide students with the knowledge necessary to perform system administration, security management, and software maintenance on servers, user consoles, routers, switches, network area storage, and military communication networks. Selected candidate will perform course conducts at various locations. Course conducts may be up to several months in length; therefore significant travel will be required. Selected candidate will work with other instructors in the design of the training courses and development of training materials. Will lead the development of System Administrator Training Courses. Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Must have at least 6 years of combined experience in system administration and developing training courses Teaching experience in developing and conducting training courses Demonstrated system administrator background, with experience spanning both Windows and Solaris systems Familiarity with LAN/WAN, MCSE, encryption, Cisco routers, and switches Familiar with Instructional System Design Experience with UNIX, LINUX, Windows, JAVA, and C++ Ability to travel Desired Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Familiar with US Army Training and Doctrine Command and experience developing and conducting U.S. Army training courses Working background in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) Familiarity with earned value management system Experience troubleshooting communication systems, data networks, and computer networks Previous experience developing training material and teaching courses for a U. S. military customer is desirable. Required Education: BS or BA in Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, Instructional Design, or related field (with training experience), or a minimum of 14 years experience or a combination of civilian/military experience, training and education may substitute for the degree. Security Clearance Requirement: A clearance is not required to start. Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret Security clearance.
