JOB TITLE: System Administrator
REPORTS TO: VP of engineering and materials

JOB SUMMARY:
Advance the IT infrastructure that includes 50+ servers, firewalls, web platforms, AS400, and around 400 users.

Hunter Engineering Company is a leader in the design and manufacture of automotive service equipment. Our computer-based products set the quality and technological standard in the industry. We are currently in need of a System Administrator.
Hunter’s IT Department is continuously upgrading and expanding their information systems to align with current business goals. This position offers an opportunity for an IT professional to learn the latest technologies and take part in implementing new innovations that could provide value to the company.
EDUCATIONAL LEVEL REQUIRED:
B.S. degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· 3‑5 years experience in Information Technology.
· Strong understanding of Microsoft Operating Systems, including Windows 2000, 2003 & 2008 Server.
· Solid understanding of MS Active Directory, Group Policies, VMware ESX and Microsoft Exchange 2007.
· Experience with designing, configuring, installing, maintaining, and tuning components associated with the LAN/WAN infrastructure comprised of Cisco routers and switches. Solid TCP/IP network knowledge and troubleshooting skills, with an understanding of DHCP, WINS, and DNS network services.
· SQL Server Administration and SAN experience a very strong plus.
· Knowledge of web hosting and load balancing issues utilizing servers such as IIS and iPlanet is also a plus.
Strong inter-personal and communication skills, cooperative teamwork skills, excellent problem‑solving ability, high degree of flexibility as well as the ability to plan, organize and prioritize work. Must be detail-oriented, and have the ability to identify tasks and resolve them. Excellent documentation and organizational skills. Comfortable in fast-paced, constantly changing work environment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Establish and manage the technology infrastructure that supports business operations (hardware, networks, operating systems, systems middle ware and telecommunications).
· Establish information security and recovery policies and facilities.
· Understand business and technical requirements and effectively design and communicate technical solutions to both technical and business audiences.
· Maintain hardware, software, and system contract information.
· Determine policies and procedures on system use and service
· Maintain current VOIP system (Shoretel) and expand to all facilities
· Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a superb work ethic with a high level of integrity to all user levels of the organization
