About the Job

What you will do

Conducts preventive maintenance, installation, and commissioning and general servicing of systems (including detailed troubleshooting of systems). This requires a knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, fire, security, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques. Works with minimal direction in the field.

How you will do it
1. Diagnoses and repairs complex system malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems and ability to test and write modifications in multiple languages of systems software.

2. Provides sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings. May assist with job layouts and bid proposals.

3. Communicates with customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Meets regularly with customer to become familiar with operating problems. Keeps customer informed on the nature of service provided, outstanding issues and recommends system enhancement/upgrade/replacement. (Promoting the sale of add-on work.)

4. Trains customer in systems operations.

5. Trains less experienced representatives and coordinates their work activity on multi-person jobs.

6. Compiles job documentation, such as certificate of completion, customer training form, training certificates and punch lists.

7. Conducts extensive self study (reading, research and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in company's product lines.

8. Comissioning new controls installed on HVAC systems.

9. Validation and documentation of software programs as it pertains to the sequence of operation.

10. Other duties related to the commissioning and servicing of building controls and facilities management systems as assigned.









What we look for


Required

1. Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field.


2. Degree may be offset by two years experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems.

3. At least three years experience as System Representative at JCI or five years experience within the industry.

4. Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent JCI to customers and other outside contacts.

5. Ability to explain technical information to non-technical people.

6. Leadership skills to coordinate the activities of System Representatives on a job site.

7. PC experience required and the ability to program software
