Position Description:

By joining our Information Security Engineering Team as a Team Lead you will serve as a hands-on manager, leading a dynamic team of engineers who are responsible for evaluating relevant business objectives, deriving security requirements to match those objectives, and collaborating with the appropriate business and technology disciplines to develop secure, reliable, and efficient security solutions for the business. Your ability to effectively partner with each of these groups and the information security team as a whole will be critical as you will be engaging them to assess data, system, and network security needs and then develop and design security solutions to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and the availability of the firm’s information assets throughout the enterprise. Our client will also look to you to identify and develop improvements to security controls currently already in place. Through these efforts, you will have the opportunity to actively contribute and lead others in the architecture, design, engineering, and implementation of security solutions.


Responsibilities:
------------------

- Direct and prioritize the daily security engineering team workload and projects; act as an escalation point for information security team members in activity and project challenges, and assess team member skills to provide career guidance and mentoring

- Align and establish strong partnerships with business and technology teams globally to understand their unique security concerns, challenges, and requirements

- Engage in decision making based on risk, cost, and opportunity in order to develop creative and effective security solutions

- Contribute to the development of the strategic direction for the security program that meets the organization’s security needs and desires; lead towards strategic goals while still meeting tactical needs

- Function as a project team member in the development, design, and implementation of new security solutions to meet business needs

- Lead or participate in the identification, evaluation, and selection of new security technologies, techniques, and tools

- Educate and raise awareness of the security program’s mission, goals, and services throughout the organization

- Report project and initiative status to appropriate levels of management


Qualifications:
----------------

- Must be highly technical

- Advanced degree in a technology related discipline required; experience may substitute for education

- Minimum seven (7) years of advanced security engineering experience with larger scale implementations spanning multiple business lines distributed globally

- Minimum of five (5) years of systems administration experience in UNIX, Linux, Windows, and/or networking required

- Minimum of four (4) years experience with support, administration, and implementation of enterprise level information security technologies such as: firewalls, IDSs/IPSs, VPNs, authentication/authorization systems, end point security techniques and technologies, content management systems and vulnerability assessment tools required

- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a team lead or supervisory role required

- Strong understanding of security principles, philosophies, and disciplines and the ability to apply them to enable the Firm's continued growth required

- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices coupled with the ability to rationalize them to meet the Firm's business objectives necessary

- Strong project management skills required

- Demonstrated success to adapt to changing priorities and requirements and ability to make sound decisions in the face of uncertainty required

- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, collaboration, and communication required

- Experience in enterprise architecture and design a must

- Strong knowledge of routing, switching, and bridging in LAN & WAN environments, access methods and network topologies critical

- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills required
