Systems Administrator – Hosted Infrastructure
A Postilion Hosted Operations Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining hosted customer environments running multiple proprietary software product lines in S1’s data center. The role requires a high level of proficiency with x86 hardware, databases, and operating systems, with specific duties that include system administration and monitoring, installation and configuration of new components, troubleshooting, documentation and adhering to operational guidelines and protections.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Active Directory Administration: Administer and monitor the test and production environments for critical business applications. Adhere to standards and procedures for administration and maintenance of these environments to ensure the security, integrity and availability of the systems.
•Database Administration: DBMS management, backup, recovery and reorganization. Installation, upgrade and conversion of DBMS engines as needed. Performance monitoring. DASD management and capacity planning.
•Hardware Installation and Troubleshooting: Ability to install, analyze, troubleshoot production hardware.
•Hyper-V Environment Support: Manage 2008 R2 Clustered Hyper-V farm.
•Operating System and Third-party Software Support: Implement and support various operating system and third-party software components as needed to make operable and protect customer environments.
•Monitoring: Use various proprietary and third-party tools to monitor components of a client’s hosted implementation, and respond to alerts accordingly.
•Collaborative Problem Solving: Work with other departments across the organization, such as Professional Services, Customer Support, Product Development, or Networking, to prevent and resolve technical problems in a timely fashion.
•Vendor Support: Work with vendor representatives in system implementation, problem resolution, enhancement requests, installation, test and implementation of software fixes and upgrades.

Education and Experience:
Education:
Typically requires a Bachelor‘s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent training or experience in database and systems administration.
MCSE, SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008 DBA preferred.
Experience:
•Demonstrated experience with Active Directory, DNS, and Hyper-V
•Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of application administration experience.
•Significant experience with large relational database management systems.
•Strong background in T-SQL or similar.
•Significant experience with the Microsoft Windows Operating System platforms and Microsoft SQL (familiarity with AIX operating systems and DB2 is a plus)
•It is preferred that the candidate have exposure to data center environments where customer data is highly sensitive and the protection thereof is subject to strict internal and external regulation.
•Experience in the banking/financial services industry is a plus.
•Customer service or other customer-facing experience is a plus.
